2022年8月11日，美国环境保护署（EPA）对其安全化学成分清单（SCIL）进行了更新。SCIL是一份经EPA Safer Choice标准认证、按功能用途类别划分的化学物质动态清单。
▌EPA将22种化学物质加入SCIL
在本次更新中，EPA向SCIL添加了22种化学物质。为了扩大SCIL中的化学物质数量和功能用途类别，EPA鼓励制造商将其更为安全的化学物质提交EPA审查并列入SCIL。出于支持政府的目的，在SCIL中添加化学物质可以激励更安全化学的进一步创新，这可以促进环境正义，增强对气候变化影响的抵御能力，并改善水质。SCIL所列的化学物质是其功能使用最安全的化学品之一。

▌EPA将1种化学物质移出SCIL
随着对其潜在的对健康和环境的影响有了更多了解，EPA将在1年后将1种化学物质（CAS# 452080-64-7）从SCIL中删除。这种化学物质最初是基于与其密切相关的物质的数据列入SCIL的，而这些物质属于在今年早些时候由FDA移出SCIL的两种PFAS物质（CAS# 34455-29-3 ＆ CAS# 452080-67-0）。
EPA去除SCIL中化学物质的过程是，首先在SCIL网页上用灰色方框标记该化学物质，以向化学物质和产品制造商发出公告通知，告知该化学品可能不再可用于Safer Choice认证产品。SCIL中的灰色方框符号表示该化学物质可能不被允许用于“Safer Choice”标签候选产品，并且任何当前含有该化学物质的Safer Choice认证产品都必须重新进行配制，除非提供相关的健康和安全数据来证明继续将该化学物质列于SCIL是合理的。所需数据将根据具体情况确定。一般而言，相关有用的数据将提供其对人类健康和环境影响力度较低的证据。除非向EPA提供的数据信息足以证明继续将该化学物质列于SCIL是合理的，否则该化学物质将在灰色方框指定后12个月从SCIL中删除。
